Texas SB1902 regulates the administration of the dealer-issued license plates database and the removal and transfer of license plates.
Texas SB1902 amends the Transportation Code to address the administration of the dealer-issued license plates database and the removal and transfer of license plates. The bill allows the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles to deny access to the database of dealer-issued license plates to dealers found to be fraudulently obtaining license plates or sets of license plates, or those denied access to the temporary tag database. Dealers denied access can request a hearing. The bill also mandates that removed license plates must be disposed of within ten days if not transferred to another vehicle.
