This bill amends the Education Code to allow the chair of the State Board of Education to employ personnel to assist in performing the board's duties. The chair can set the duties and compensation of these employees, subject to legislative appropriation. Employees hired under this authority are considered Texas Education Agency employees for benefits purposes and are directly accountable to the chair. The Texas Education Agency must provide necessary administrative support services. The bill takes effect September 1, 2025.
