The bill amends the Education Code to exempt certain activities from requirements regarding diversity, equity, or inclusion initiatives if they are not funded by state money. These activities include academic course instruction, scholarly research or creative work, activities of student organizations, guest speakers or performers, policies to enhance student academic achievement, data collection, student recruitment or admissions, and programs or scholarships funded by private donations, federal money, or non-state appropriations.
