SB1812 amends the Texas Insurance Code to restrict health benefit plan issuers from requiring more than one prior authorization annually for prescription drugs treating autoimmune diseases, hemophilia, neurodegenerative diseases, and Von Willebrand disease. This change applies to health benefit plans delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed on or after January 1, 2026. Plans delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed before January 1, 2026, remain governed by existing law. The Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
