Texas SB179 requires the commission to conduct a public outreach and education campaign for mixed-status families. This campaign must clearly explain Medicaid and child health plan eligibility, be easy to understand, and available in English and Spanish or another language spoken by the majority of the targeted population. The campaign will distribute information at health fairs and through community clinics. The campaign will also develop informational material about eligibility criteria relating to residency and citizenship status. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
