The bill establishes the Office of Community Violence Intervention and Prevention within the Department of State Health Services. The office will coordinate and expand violence intervention and prevention activities, develop collaborative relationships with state agencies, and award grants to counties, municipalities, and community-based organizations disproportionately impacted by violence. The office will also conduct a statewide public health campaign on violence and develop a directory of violence intervention and prevention services.
