Requires public schools to have at least one automated external defibrillator available at each campus.
The bill amends the Education Code to mandate that each school district in Texas must ensure at least one automated external defibrillator is available at each campus. These defibrillators must be readily accessible during any University Interscholastic League athletic competition held on the campus. The principal of the campus must place the defibrillator in a clearly marked and accessible location, considering the primary location where students engage in athletic activities. The defibrillator cannot be stored in a locked case when students or school employees are present on campus.
