Texas SB1525 amends the Insurance Code to restrict health benefit plan issuers from requiring more than one prior authorization annually for prescription drugs treating chronic health conditions. This includes autoimmune diseases, hemophilia, neurodegenerative diseases, and Von Willebrand disease. The law applies to health benefit plans delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed on or after January 1, 2026. Plans existing before that date remain governed by previous laws. The act takes effect September 1, 2025.
