The Texas General Land Office will coordinate the trail's establishment, aiming for completion by January 1, 2036. The Parks and Wildlife Department will maintain the trail. Real property acquired for the trail can only be used for trail purposes and cannot be acquired through eminent domain. The bill takes effect September 1, 2025.
