Texas SB1508 allows certain political subdivisions to publish required notices using alternative media instead of newspapers.
Texas SB1508 amends the Government Code to allow political subdivisions with populations of 75,000 or less and without a newspaper of general circulation to publish required notices using alternative media. These alternative media include social media, free newspapers, school newspapers, homeowners' association newsletters, utility bills, direct mailings, and print or digital newsletters. The notices must be published on an Internet website for at least two weeks and be searchable by subject matter, location, or both.
