SB147 mandates polling place locations on Texas higher education campuses based on student enrollment.
SB147 amends the Texas Election Code to require county commissioners to designate polling places on campuses of institutions of higher education. If a campus has at least 5,000 students, one polling place is required. For campuses with 10,000 or more students, two polling places are required, with an additional polling place for every 10,000 students beyond the initial 10,000. The changes take effect September 1, 2025.
