Texas SB1452 amends the Local Government Code to set election dates for municipal management districts and outlines procedures for district.
Texas SB1452 amends the Local Government Code to establish election dates for municipal management districts. Districts created before November 1, 2016, must hold continuation elections starting in November 2026. Districts created after that date must hold elections in November following the 10th anniversary of their creation. If voters decide against continuation, the board must dissolve the district and cannot incur new debt. The board cannot dissolve a district with outstanding bonded indebtedness until that debt is repaid or defeased.
