Texas SB1332 allows insurers to waive premium payments if eligibility termination is reported late, with no services provided after termination.
Texas SB1332 amends the Insurance Code to allow health maintenance organizations and insurers to waive premium payments if a group contract holder or policyholder reports the termination of an individual's eligibility for group coverage later than the end of the month in which the eligibility terminated. This waiver applies only if no covered services were provided to the individual after the eligibility termination. The changes take effect immediately if approved by a two-thirds vote in both houses, otherwise on September 1, 2025.
