The bill establishes a certified caregiver pilot program in the Borderplex workforce development area to address the need for after-hours child care for single-parent household working parents who are pursuing a short-term workforce training program. The program will assist employees of child-care facilities with obtaining a license to provide child care in their homes and provide supplemental subsidized child care for eligible single-parent households for up to six months. The local workforce development board will select 30 single-parent families to participate.
