Texas SB1242 modifies the Education Code to mandate that the board must review and approve the acceptance or acquisition of any land and facilities if the board of regents requests to add them to the educational and general buildings and facilities inventory and their combined value exceeds $300,000. The board may accept or acquire land and facilities in counties where a campus or extension center is located. The act takes effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in both houses, otherwise it takes effect September 1, 2025.
