Categorical exclusions include water injection into existing oil and gas wells, upgrading electrical transmission lines, seismic exploration activity, building and repairing fences, road maintenance, meter tap installation, controlled burning of fields, animal grazing, plowing, monument and signpost installation, trail maintenance, land sales and trades, and projects involving fiber-optic cables.
