Allows dealers to advertise used vehicles not in their possession if certain disclosures are made.
The bill amends the Occupations Code to allow a dealer to advertise a specific used motor vehicle that is not in their possession at the time of the advertisement. This is permitted if the advertisement clearly states that the vehicle is not in the dealer's possession, indicates that the vehicle can be obtained within a reasonable time from the manufacturer, distributor, or a related financial institution, and includes the vehicle identification number if the price is advertised. The changes take effect September 1, 2025.
