The Texas House of Representatives congratulates Mendell D. Morgan Jr. on his retirement from the Live Oak City Council. Morgan, who has served since 2014, has been instrumental in enacting local legislation, adopting budgets, and determining city policies. A native Texan, he has lived in Live Oak since 1975, and is currently the director of development for the El Progreso Memorial Library in Uvalde. He was named the Librarian of the Year by the Texas Library Association in 2024.
