The House of Representatives pays tribute to Deputy Melissa Pollard, who died in the line of duty on April 9, 2025. Pollard, born in Paris, Texas, had a 22-year career in law enforcement, serving in Collin County, Fannin County, and Wood County. She was awarded the Police Cross for her service and was known for training and mentoring newer recruits. Pollard was also involved with the SPCA and Project Lifesaver. She is survived by her daughter, three grandchildren, sisters, partner, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
