The Texas House of Representatives congratulates Ivy L. Walls on receiving a 2025 Outstanding Texan Award from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus. Walls, owner of Ivy Leaf Farms, is dedicated to improving the health of Sunnyside residents by providing fresh produce. She began growing vegetables in her parents' backyard and expanded to five acres, launching a GoFundMe and receiving a $10,000 grant from Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and the NAACP. Walls also cofounded Black Farmer Box and Fresh Houwse Grocery, which serve as neighborhood gathering places.
