The bill recognizes March 20, 2025, as University of North Texas at Dallas Day at the State Capitol. Established in 2010, UNT Dallas is the only public, accredited four-year university in the city, and it is designated as a Minority Serving Institution and a Hispanic Serving Institution by the U.S. Department of Education. With a total enrollment of nearly 3,600, approximately 70 percent of undergraduates are first-generation students and many receive federal assistance through Pell Grants.
