The program, which began in fall 2024, is part of the university's Strategic Plan 2027 to address Austin's nursing shortage. The school's facilities include simulation labs, a physical and wellness lab, a clinical skills lab, and a women-childcare-family suite. Dr. Donna Beuk, the founding director, also serves as interim dean. The university plans to introduce additional health science programs and degrees in the future.
