The Texas House of Representatives congratulates Mario K. Castillo on his investiture as the fifth chancellor of Lone Star College, scheduled for February 14, 2025. Castillo, the first Latino to hold this position, was appointed in August 2023. Since joining the institution in 2015, he has held various roles, including general counsel, vice chancellor, and chief operating officer, as well as interim president of LSC-Kingwood. During his tenure, he has prioritized student success by reshaping policies, creating scholarships and internships, and offering career advice to students.
