The House of Representatives of the 89th Texas Legislature pays tribute to Alan George Moravcik, who passed away on August 20, 2024, at the age of 77. Born in Hays, Kansas, and raised in Odessa, Alan Moravcik attended The University of Texas at Austin on an athletic scholarship, playing football and baseball for the Longhorns. He earned his juris doctor degree from UT in 1972. After practicing law in Austin for nine years, he joined a firm in Midland, eventually founding his own practice and later forming the law firm Moravcik, Threadgill & Starry.
