The Mexican American Cultural Center in El Paso opened in March 2025, funded by a 2012 quality of life bond program. The center, located in the Downtown Arts District, celebrates border cultures through exhibitions and creative expression, guided by the city's Museum and Cultural Affairs Department. It is dedicated to the stories and traditions of Indigenous peoples, including Lipan Apache, Mescalero Apache, and others. The $15 million, 41,000-square-foot facility includes a Black Box Theatre, art galleries, a dance studio, and a recording studio for oral histories.
