Honoring the Magnolia Historical Society for preserving and promoting local history.
The Texas House of Representatives honors the Magnolia Historical Society for its efforts to preserve and promote local history. Founded in 1993, the society manages the Magnolia Depot Museum Complex, which includes the town's original 1902 railroad depot, a 19th-century sawmill, a Southern Pacific caboose, and a wood-frame house that served as Dr. J. M. Ware's office and barber shop. The depot was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1999.
