The House of Representatives of the 89th Texas Legislature recognizes February 19, 2025, as Liberty County Day at the State Capitol. The resolution extends best wishes to the visiting delegation for a meaningful and memorable stay in Austin. Liberty County, established in 1836, includes the original territory of what would become Tyler County and parts of Hardin, Chambers, San Jacinto, and Polk Counties. Located midway between Beaumont and Houston, Liberty County is divided by the Trinity River and features both Coastal Prairie and Big Thicket landscapes.
