Texas HJR206 proposes a constitutional amendment to limit the time a person may serve as a statewide elected officer in the executive branch. Specifically, a person would not be eligible to be elected to such an office if they have served in that office during any part of each of twelve or more calendar years. This restriction does not apply to service in office before January 1, 2027. The amendment will be submitted to voters in the November 4, 2025 election.
