Proposing a constitutional amendment to abolish ad valorem taxes in Texas after January 1, 2030.

This bill proposes a constitutional amendment to abolish ad valorem taxes in Texas, effective January 1, 2030. It allows political subdivisions to impose such taxes only to repay bonds or obligations secured by ad valorem tax revenue issued before that date. The amendment will be submitted to voters in the May 2, 2026 election.
