Texas HCR164 commemorates the 190th anniversary of the signing of the Treaties of Velasco, which concluded the Texas Revolution and recognized Texas as an independent territory. The resolution honors the sacrifices of those who fought for Texas independence in 1836. After the defeat of Mexican forces at the Battle of San Jacinto, two treaties were signed by Texas Ad Interim President David G. Burnet and Mexican General Antonio López de Santa Anna.
