Texas HB992 allows eligible individuals who complete a specialty court program to petition for nondisclosure of their criminal history record.
Texas HB992 amends the Government Code to allow individuals who successfully complete a specialty court program to petition for an order of nondisclosure of their criminal history record information. To be eligible, the individual must satisfy certain requirements, have no prior convictions of specified offenses, and not be convicted of any felony within two years of completing the program. The court must issue an order prohibiting disclosure if it is in the best interest of justice. However, individuals whose entry into the program resulted from a DWI conviction are not eligible.
