The Climate Change Impact Assessment Council is created to study the impact of climate change on Texas residents, natural resources, public health, and the economy. The council will estimate costs, research prevention and mitigation measures, and recommend legislation. It will hold public hearings and submit a report by January 1, 2027. The council is composed of two senators, two representatives, and seven public members, including experts in climatology, the state's economy, land management, and tourism. The council is abolished and this Act expires September 1, 2027.
