Texas HB858 amends the Government Code to adjust the dates on which individuals on deferred adjudication community supervision can petition for nondisclosure of their criminal history record information. For misdemeanors, petitions can be filed immediately upon discharge and dismissal. For specified misdemeanors and state jail felonies, petitions can be filed after one anniversary of discharge and dismissal. For other felonies, petitions can be filed after three anniversaries. The changes take effect September 1, 2025.
