This bill amends the Education Code to mandate that the board of trustees of each school district determine the appropriate number of armed security officers for each campus. The board must ensure that at least one armed security officer is present during regular school hours at each campus with an instructional facility. The requirement applies starting with the 2025-2026 school year. The bill can take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in both houses, otherwise it takes effect September 1, 2025.
