Texas HB745 amends the Texas Government Code to allow crime victims or close relatives of deceased crime victims to be exempt from jury service. This exemption applies if the victim or close relative testified in a court proceeding related to the crime. The change in law applies only to exemptions for individuals summoned to appear for jury service on or after the effective date of the Act. The Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
