Texas HB731 amends the duties of the Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Review Committee to include studying cases of severe maternal morbidity, comparing rates of pregnancy-related deaths based on socioeconomic status, and determining the feasibility of studying severe maternal morbidity. The committee must also use the Maternal Mortality Review Information Application (MMRIA) data system to process and analyze health care data. The bill takes effect September 1, 2025.
