HB678 amends the Education Code to mandate that student identification cards from public higher education institutions must include contact information for the National Sexual Assault Hotline. These cards may also include contact information for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, the Crisis Text Line, campus police or local non-emergency police, campus health clinics or local health clinics, and local suicide prevention hotlines. The changes apply to student identification cards issued on or after the effective date of the Act.
