Texas HB635 allows state employees to work flexible hours and from alternative work sites, with policies to be evaluated for productivity and traffic.
Texas HB635 amends the Government Code to allow state employees to work flexible hours and from alternative work sites, including their personal residences, subject to supervisor and administrative head approval. Each state agency may adopt a policy identifying factors for evaluating position suitability for alternative work sites and requiring employees to enter into agreements with their agencies. The policy must also provide for the revocation of an employee's permission to work from an alternative work site if the position is no longer suitable or if the employee violates the agreement.
