Texas HB619 amends the Education Code to allow students under 19 and in grades 9 through 12 to transfer for athletic participation if both the receiving district and the student's parent or guardian agree. The transfer remains in effect until the student graduates or withdraws. The receiving district cannot deny a transfer application based on the student's sex, race, national origin, ancestral language, or disability. The University Interscholastic League cannot penalize or sanction a student or the receiving district for such transfers if they meet the requirements.
