Texas HB5433 amends the Business & Commerce Code to restrict the information consumer reporting agencies can include in consumer reports. Specifically, it prohibits reports from containing information related to cases under Title 11 of the United States Code, crimes with dispositions over seven years old, bankruptcies over ten years old, suits or judgments over seven years old, tax liens over seven years old, and certain medical collections. The Act takes effect immediately if approved by two-thirds of the legislature, otherwise it becomes effective September 1, 2025.
