Texas HB5397 amends the Alcoholic Beverage Code to authorize out-of-state winery direct shipper's permit holders to conduct wine samplings or tastings at civic or wine festivals, farmers' markets, celebrations, or similar events. The wine provided must be produced or bottled by the permit holder, and sample portions cannot exceed one ounce. Attendees cannot remove samples from the event premises. The permit holder is responsible for transporting the wine to the event and covering the cost of the wine provided. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
