Allows pregnant individuals in the second or third trimester on election day to vote by mail.
This bill amends the Texas Election Code to allow pregnant individuals who will be in the second or third trimester of pregnancy on election day to vote by mail. It adds this eligibility to the existing criteria for early voting by mail, which includes voters with a sickness or physical condition that prevents them from appearing at the polling place without a likelihood of needing personal assistance or of injuring their health, and those expecting to give birth within three weeks before or after election day. The changes will take effect on September 1, 2025.
