The Legislative Youth Advisory Council is established to study and discuss issues affecting youth, including education, employment, and health. The council consists of one member from the House of Representatives, one from the Senate, and 31 youth members. Youth members must be aged 14-19, high school students, and U.S. residents. The council advises the legislature, communicates with state agencies, and submits reports. Meetings cannot conflict with school hours, and youth members can be excused from school for council duties. The council may create subcommittees, including one on education.
