Texas HB5305 amends the Education Code to require able-bodied students in public schools and open-enrollment charter schools to rise and recite, or silently and respectfully observe the recitation of, the Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. and Texas flags once each school day. The board of trustees of each school district and the governing board of each open-enrollment charter school must ensure the U.S. and Texas flags are prominently displayed in classrooms during the recitations.
