Texas HB5237 amends the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to exclude wrongful death claims for unborn children against the mother, physicians, health care providers, and drug dispensers if the death results from lawful medical procedures or abortions. The law applies only to causes of action that accrue after the effective date of the Act. If the Act receives a two-thirds vote in both houses, it takes effect immediately; otherwise, it takes effect September 1, 2025.
