HB5090 amends the Health and Safety Code to require hospitals to allow patients to provide autologous or direct blood donations for their medical procedures. Patients must notify the hospital of their intention at least 72 hours before the scheduled procedure. For direct blood donations, patients must also provide a list of eligible blood donors. This law takes effect on September 1, 2025.
