Expands the sale period for fireworks in Texas to include the five days before Lunar New Year.
This bill amends the Texas Occupations Code to allow retail fireworks permit holders to sell fireworks during specific periods, including an additional period beginning five days before Lunar New Year and ending at midnight on Lunar New Year. The existing periods for fireworks sales are from June 24 to July 4, December 20 to January 1, and May 1 to May 5 if the sale is within 100 miles of the Texas-Mexico border and approved by the county's commissioners court. The changes will take effect on September 1, 2025.
