Texas HB5053 amends the Health and Safety Code to prohibit marketing, advertising, or selling e-cigarette products that depict cartoon-like characters aimed at minors, imitate trademarks of products marketed to minors, include symbols used to market to minors, feature celebrity images, or resemble food products. It also bans products shaped or designed to look like school supplies, smart devices, headphones, clothing, backpacks, cosmetics, or toys, as well as those manufactured in China. Violators face criminal penalties. The law takes effect September 1, 2025.
