The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is mandated to create and maintain a cardiac arrest registry. This registry will collect and aggregate data on the incidence and causes of cardiac arrest among individuals under 36 years old in Texas. The primary physician attending to a deceased individual under 36 who died from cardiac arrest must submit specific information to the registry within 60 days of the death. This information includes the age, time and date of death, location, circumstances, activities at the time of the cardiac arrest, and whether the individual was an athlete.
