Texas HB4538 amends the Parks and Wildlife Code to require the Parks and Wildlife Department to transfer a portion of vessel registration fees to the General Land Office. Specifically, 5 percent of the fees collected from a designated source is to be transferred monthly to the derelict vessels and structures account. This account, established in the general revenue fund, is intended to support the removal and disposal of derelict vessels and structures. The General Land Office can also accept gifts, grants, or bequests to fund these activities. The act takes effect September 1, 2025.
